“Choose your attitude, choose your energy, choose your future.”
This quote came to me at the end of a particularly sluggish week. I woke up every morning more tired than the one before. Bleary-eyed and bent over I’d wake the kids for school, send them off, and look longingly at my unmade bed. Propped pillows, coffee, newspaper and me, lounging. That was the fantasy. The reality was that while I may have wasted 2 to 3 minutes dreaming of more sleep, even while making the bed against my will I didn’t succumb to the luxury. Not once in all those days of dragging my a_ _ out of bed did I return to it.
Don’t get me wrong – it’s not all work and no play. I do walk the dog. I do go to the gym. I do use Chapter’s and Winner’s as mini getaways to clear my head when needed and I do sit down to dinner with my family most nights, schedules permitting. Life is good but I also believe that life is what I make it. That’s why I decided that I will wake every day deciding to choose my attitude, choose my energy and believe that by doing so I will push myself toward a future of my choosing.
I have updated my “what are you doing” headline 300 times of which the quote, “choose your attitude, choose your energy, choose your future” went up 3 times because every time I put it up someone would retweet (quote my quote by resending it through their followship) it.
